Deze prachtige witte sauskom of saucière, vervaardigd door Société Céramique Maastricht, is uitgevoerd in gecraqueleerd aardewerk en voorzien van een vaste onderschotel. De kom heeft de vorm van een sausboot en wordt gekenmerkt door een dubbeloorornament dat het geheel een sierlijke en rustieke uitstraling verleent.

De bootvormige vatvorm maakt dit stuk niet alleen functioneel als sauskom, maar ook aantrekkelijk als decoratief element. Het aardewerk vertoont gebruiksvlekken en craquelures, maar er zijn geen barsten of afschilferingen. De kom zelf is intact en in goede staat, wat uitzonderlijk is gezien de leeftijd.

Onderaan is het stuk gestempeld met Société Céramique Maestricht – Made in Holland, vergezeld van een leeuw en een ingedrukt makersmerk T 2 X. This beautiful white sauce boat or saucière, produced by Société Céramique Maastricht, is made of crackle‑glazed earthenware and features a fixed undertray. The boat‑shaped vessel is characterised by its double‑ear ornament, giving the piece a refined and rustic appearance.

The elongated form makes it functional as a sauce boat while also serving as an attractive decorative object. The earthenware shows use marks and craquelure, but there are no cracks or chips. The bowl itself is intact and in good condition, which is exceptional considering its age.

The underside bears the stamp Société Céramique Maestricht – Made in Holland, accompanied by a lion and the impressed maker’s mark T 2 X. This confirms its origin from the renowned Maastricht factory, active from 1863 to 1958 before becoming part of Royal Sphinx.
