Antieke polychrome porseleinen boerenkinderen in Hollandse klederdracht – ca. 1900

These charming antique porcelain figurines depict a group of farm boys and farm girls dressed in traditional Dutch costume. Executed in soft polychrome colours, the figures create a lively scene that evokes the atmosphere of rural Holland at the turn of the twentieth century.

The girls wear traditional bonnets, aprons and long dresses highlighted with delicate shades of pink, white and blue. The boys are dressed in shirts with bow ties, paired with beige and blue trousers and characterful hats. The subtle colour contrasts give the composition warmth and authenticity.

Each figure stands on a green base and faces the others, creating a natural interaction and storytelling quality. The playful arrangement and carefully painted details contribute to the decorative and folkloric appeal of the set.

The figurines carry the model number 5831, and the style suggests production in Rauenstein, Thuringia. The refined modelling and decoration reflect the high level of craftsmanship for which German porcelain workshops became renowned around 1900.
