Prachtige Duitse bisque jardinière met kinderen en duiven – Exquisite German bisque jardinière with children and doves – ca. 1900

Antique German bisque jardinière with children scene – ca. 1900

This exceptionally refined German bisque porcelain jardinière dates from the early twentieth century and presents a touching scene filled with tenderness, harmony and poetic charm. The composition depicts two children gathered beside an ornate fountain, executed with remarkable attention to detail.

The young girl carries a small basket and feeds two doves pecking eagerly from her hand. Beside her stands a boy holding a walking stick, gently touching her shoulder. This delicate gesture creates a sense of friendship, comfort and human connection that enhances the emotional appeal of the piece.

Behind the children rises a decorative fountain adorned with floral ornamentation and finely sculpted details. The combination of sculptural artistry and functional jardinière design makes this object especially appealing to collectors of antique porcelain and decorative arts.

The reverse bears the impressed number 4238, supporting the authenticity of the piece. Despite its age, the jardinière remains in good overall condition. One small chip to a dove is present but remains discreet and does not detract from the overall beauty of the composition.
