Deze prachtige handgeschilderde Chinese export suikerpot uit de Ch’ing‑dynastie, eind 19e–begin 20e eeuw, is een verfijnd voorbeeld van het klassieke Rose Canton‑porselein. Het stuk is vervaardigd uit helder wit porselein en rijkelijk versierd met het traditionele Rose Medaillon‑patroon, waarbij kleurrijke emailverven met de hand zijn aangebracht.

Rondom de buik bevinden zich tweemaal twee medaillons met een dorpsscène waarin drie dames met elkaar in gesprek zijn. Tussen deze taferelen verschijnen pioenen, ranken en een bontgekleurde vogel op een rode tak. Op het deksel keren beide scènes verkleind terug, wat het geheel een harmonieuze en decoratieve uitstraling geeft. De oren zijn elegant verguld en roodgoud afgeboord, wat het stuk een warme, luxueuze toets geeft.

De bodem is ongemarkeerd, typisch voor exportporselein dat na 1850 werd vervaardigd voor de Europese en later Amerikaanse markt. Ondanks lichte gebruikssporen verkeert de suikerpot in goede vintage staat, zonder chips of barsten, en behoudt hij zijn levendige uitstraling.

This beautifully hand‑painted Chinese export sugar pot from the Qing dynasty, late 19th to early 20th century, is a refined example of classic Rose Canton porcelain. Made from bright white porcelain and richly decorated with the traditional Rose Medallion pattern, the enamel colours are applied entirely by hand.

Around the body appear two sets of medallions showing a village scene with three ladies conversing. Between these scenes are peonies, floral sprays and a colourful bird perched on a red branch. Both motifs reappear in smaller form on the lid, giving the piece a harmonious and decorative appearance. The handles are elegantly gilded and edged in red‑gold, adding a warm and luxurious touch.

The base is unmarked, typical for export porcelain produced after 1850 for the European and later American market. Despite light signs of use, the sugar pot remains in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks and retains its vivid, expressive decoration.
